Pam has worked in the management of medical records in a hospital setting.  Most recently, she created the Health Information Management Services program at Central Community College - Hastings Campus.  She has also has a long history of volunteer work with the Nebraska Health Information Management Association serving as President from January 1999 to June 2000.

Kim worked as director of information services in a hospital setting.  The services included medical records, transcription, utilization review, performance improvement, risk management and admitting.  Kim has also been an Information Technology instructor at the college level.  She currently holds Microsoft Office User Specialist master certification in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint as well as expert certification in Word 2000, PowerPoint 2000, Excel 2000 and Access 2000.

 

What is an RHIA?

RHIA stands for "Registered Health Information Administrator."  It is a certification title obtained by passing a national exam offered by the American Health Information Management Association (www.ahima.org).  To be eligible to take this exam, the individual must have completed a rigorous course of study in an accredited college program to earn a bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Health Information Management.

What is a CCS-P?

CCS-P  stands for "Clinical Coding Specialist - Physician-based."  It is a certification title obtained by passing a national exam offered by the American Health Information Management Association (www.ahima.org).  The CCS-P is a coding practitioner with expertise in physician-based settings such as physician offices, group practices, multi-specialty clinics, or specialty centers.  CCS-Ps posses in-depth knowledge of the CPT coding system.

What is a CHDA?

RHIA stands for "Certified Health Data Analyst."  It is a certification title obtained by passing a national exam offered by the American Health Information Management Association (www.ahima.org).  CHDAs demonstrate expertise in health data analysis and the knowledge to acquire, manage, analyze, interpret, and transform data into accurate, consistent, and timely information, while balancing the "big picture" strategic vision with day-to-day details.
